Frequently Asked Questions
Candle Care Guide: Everything You Need to Know
1) How long should I burn my candle?
For optimal performance, burn your candle for 3-4 hours each time you light it. Burning for shorter periods can cause 'tunneling,' where the candle burns down the center without melting the wax around the edges, reducing your candle's lifespan.
2) How long will my candle last?
Daggerhart's Designs candles provide approximately 40 hours of burn time when used properly. Note that burn time may be reduced if your candle is exposed to drafts from fans, air conditioning, or open windows.
3) Do I need to trim the wick before lighting my candle?
Yes, always trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use. This ensures a clean, even burn and prevents excessive smoke or soot.
4) When should I stop using my candle?
Your candle is finished when there's ¼ to ½ inch of wax remaining in the vessel. This is the safe stopping point to prevent damage to the container.
5) What happens if I burn all the wax?
Burning your candle completely can cause the glass vessel to crack or break due to overheating. This is why it's essential to stop using your candle when ¼ to ½ inch of wax remains.
6) What does FO mean?
FO stands for Fragrance Oil - the scented oils we use to give our candles their beautiful fragrances.
7) What type of wax do you use in your candles?
All Daggerhart's Designs candles are made with premium soy wax, which burns cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax.
